Volunteering | Percy Norman Swim Club

The Percy Norman Swim Club is run solely by parent volunteers. The Parent Volunteer Program is therefore an integral element of our club.

The support and participation of all parents is required in order to ensure a successful season. Most of the jobs are not difficult and can be done by every parent. Some jobs can even be done from the comfort of your own home.

At the PNSC, we strongly encourage our parents to get involved as much as they can. You'll learn about the many different facets of the club, you'll find that time will fly by when you are volunteering, and you'll get an opportunity to make lots of new friends and acquaintances.

At the PNSC, we realize that the club is only as strong as the amount of volunteering time put forth by our parents. We thank you for your efforts - we appreciate it and your children appreciate it!

Each family is required to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours for each session and to hand in a $50 volunteer deposit cheque during Registration.

There are various volunteer jobs which will be announced on our website, through your e-mail, and on a printed hand-out. The club won’t contact you asking you to volunteer; it is the members’ responsibility to look for their volunteer jobs.

Certain volunteer jobs have a limitation imposed on them such as the following:

Mile Swim: max.1 hour/family/session
Time Trial: max.1 hour/family/session
Party: max. 1 hour/family/session (applied to those parent who sign up)
Parent meeting: max.1 hour/family/session

Please note that we do not give back a prorated cheque for partial completion of volunteer hours. Therefore families who have done only some or none of the volunteer hours have to make up the unfinished volunteer hours with the purchase of gift cards with value equivalent to the hours they owe the club , otherwise we will cash their $50 volunteer cheque. The PNSC Volunteer Record Sheet is provided in pdf format and Microsoft Word format for your convenience. Instructions for completing this record sheet are as follows:

Please record your volunteer job descriptions for each activity/event and have the volunteer coordinator, or an executive member sign.
Please submit your completed record sheet to Yan by the end of each session.
A Volunteer Deposit cheque will be cashed right after each session ends if you fail to help with activities/events which your child participates in.
