At the Percy Norman Swim Club, two leadership opportunities we provide for our members are the Junior Leader Program and the Assistant Coaching Program.
To apply to be an Assistant Coach, you must meet the following conditions:

You have been a junior leader with PNSC for at least one year
-
You have completed your Bronze Cross and Bronze Medallion
-
You are currently in grade 11 or above
-
You must be able to swim at least once per week and assist once per week
-
You love working with our youngest swimmers (groups 3 & 4)
Note: This is a paid position.
As an assistant coach, your duties will include:
-
assisting group coaches
-
working closely with swimmers who are having difficulty keeping up with the group
-
working closely with swimmers who are having difficulty following instructions.
Training
-
Training sessions will be provided by our Head Coach, providing you with knowledge and skills to work effectively with the swimmers;

The Group Coaches will also provide instruction, support and mentoring
-
The Executive of the Club will provide guidance and support to you
-
Ongoing feedback and instruction will be provided by the Head Coach and the Group Coaches

The Executive of Percy Norman Swim Club realizes the vital role you play in the success of each swimmer in the club and would like to reward you by subsidizing the cost of qualifying courses (eg. AWSI, WSI, NCCP).
To qualify you must meet the following criteria:

Pre-apply for approval

You’re a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Junior Leader at Percy Norman Swim Club September 2010 to June 2011

Will be a Coach or Assistant Coach at Percy Norman Swim Club September 2011 to June 2012
-
Courses must be taken any time between May 1st, 2011 and June 30th, 2012
-
Pass the course
Qualified applicants will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 50% of the course fee on June 30th, 2012 so please hold onto your receipt. Applicants must complete a short summary of what they learned during the course.
