At the Percy Norman Swim Club, two leadership opportunities we provide for our members are the Assistant Coaching Program and the Junior Leader Program.
The Junior Leader Program involves senior swimmers working with coaches in assisting younger swimmers at practices. Although priority in the program will be given to returning Junior Leaders, a limited number of positions will be available for new applicants.
To apply as a Junior Leader, swimmers must meet the following criteria:

Be 13 years of age or older as of December 31, 2010

Regularly swim twice a week at Percy Norman Pool

Be prepared to go into the water during practice

Be in Groups 1A, 1B, or 2...there are NO exceptions
-
Have to be with our club for at least one season (both fall and winter sessions)
If accepted into the program, all Junior Leaders need to attend a training session.

The Executive of Percy Norman Swim Club realizes the vital role you play in the success of each swimmer in the club and would like to reward you by subsidizing the cost of qualifying courses (eg. AWSI, WSI, NCCP).
To qualify you must meet the following criteria:

Pre-apply for approval

You’re a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Junior Leader at Percy Norman Swim Club September 2010 to June 2011

Will be a Coach or Assistant Coach at Percy Norman Swim Club September 2011 to June 2012

Courses must be taken any time between May 1st, 2011 and June 30th, 2012

Pass the course
Qualified applicants will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 50% of the course fee on June 30th, 2012 so please hold onto your receipt. Applicants must complete a short summary of what they learned during the course.
